The Opening Season Run at Metromall: how we kicked off 2026 with energy and movement
On January 18th, Metromall became the epicenter of movement with The Opening Season Run, a race designed to kickstart 2026 with health and clear goals.
From 6:00 a.m., hundreds of participants—adults on the challenging 5 km route and children on the fun 1 km course—filled the streets around Metromall with unstoppable energy. This was more than a race; it was a collective celebration of resilience and well-being.
Early registration allowed entire families and running enthusiasts to join effortlessly. The event highlighted the importance of activating the body from the first kilometer, aligning with post-holiday fitness trends.
On the track: adrenaline, community, and personal achievement
On race day, the sun was just rising when runners gathered at the Metromall starting line. The 5 km adult category challenged participants of all ages with a vibrant urban route: wide streets, views of Panama’s skyline, and constant support from volunteers and spectators. The well-marked, safe course combined moderate challenges with moments of pure enjoyment.
For the little ones, the 1 km kids’ race was pure magic. Children aged 5 to 12 years ran for medals, cheered on by parents and animators. The family-friendly atmosphere, with hydration stations and motivating music, made everyone feel part of a big runner family.
